UL 2596 is an international testing standard that evaluates the durability of enclosures, specifically whether they can maintain their structural integrity under the high-temperature and high-pressure conditions generated when a lithium-ion battery (LiB) undergoes thermal runaway.

Conventional materials that comply with the UL 2596 BETR test rely on long-fiber reinforcements to provide mechanical strength, which imposes constraints on product design. In contrast, XYRON™ can be injection-molded into complex shapes. These features contribute significantly to enhanced battery system performance and greater design freedom.
