PIM (powder injection molding)

Exhibition information

Asahi Kasei exhibited at WorldPM2026, which was held in Montreal, Canada from June 25th (Thursday) to 29th (Monday), 2026.

At Asahi Kasei 's exhibition booth, we showcased our all-in-one binder for heat degreasing in metal injection molding (MIM), "TENAC™-P PT120," as well as our newly developed all-in-one binder for acid degreasing, TENAC™-P PC120.
TENAC™-P PC120 is applicable to a wide range of metals and minimizes odor generation during the mixing and molding processes. Furthermore, it provides a highly fluid feedstock and excellent sintered body properties, achieving a high level of balance between workability, moldability, and product performance.

PIM (powder injection molding)

×

Powder Injection Molding (PIM) is a method for manufacturing small, high-precision metal or ceramic parts by injection molding metal or ceramic powder.
Specifically, a feedstock is obtained by mixing and pelletizing metal powder or ceramic powder with a binder, then injection molding is performed. The binder is removed by degreasing and sintering to obtain precisely shaped metal or ceramic parts.
