Flame Class:
5-VA, 5-VB, V-0, V-1, V-2, HB
Relative Thermal Index(RTI):
Unit:℃
The temperature at which the initial values of the electrical (Elec) and mechanical (Mech) properties of impact strength (Imp) and tensile strength (Str) are reduced to half their values after 100,000 hours of aging.
Hot Wire Ignition(HWI):
A nichrome wire is wound around the test piece, and the nichrome wire is energized to consume 65 W of power, and the time (in seconds) until ignition is measured.
- PLC
- 0:More than 120 seconds
- 1:60~119 seconds
- 2:30~59 seconds
- 3:15~29 seconds
- 4:7~14 seconds
- 5:Less than 7 seconds
High Ampere Arc Resistance(HAI):
Move the movable electrode between the fixed and movable electrodes to discharge at a rate of 40 times/minute and measure the number of times until ignition occurs.
- PLC
- 0:More than 120 times
- 1:60~119 times
- 2:30~59 times
- 3:15~29 times
- 4:7~14 times
- 4:Less than 15 times
High Voltage Arc Tracking Rate(HVTR):
A large voltage and a small current are passed at intervals of 3.97 mm to discharge between the electrodes. This interval is gradually increased, and when the arc no longer flies, it is returned to the original interval. This process is continued for 2 minutes and the length of the track trace is divided by 2 minutes.
- PLC
- 0:0~10mm/min
- 1:10.1~25.4mm/min
- 2:25.5~80mm/min
- 3:80.1~150mm/min
- 4:More than 150mm/min
D495:Arc resistance test
A discharge current of 10 mA is initially applied continuously between electrodes facing each other at a distance of 6.25 mm, the discharge interval is increased every minute, and finally a current of 40 mA is applied, and the time (in seconds) until discharge occurs is measured.
- PLC
- 0:More than 420 times
- 1:360~419 seconds
- 2:300~359 seconds
- 3:240~299 seconds
- 4:180~239 seconds
- 5:120~179 seconds
- 6: 60~119 seconds
- 7:Less than 60 seconds
Comparative Tracking Index(CTI):
A voltage of 100 to 600 V is applied, and 50 drops of ammonium chloride 0.1% aqueous solution are dropped from the drop port at a rate of once every 30 seconds, and the voltage (V) at which surface breakdown occurs is measured.
- PLC
- 0:More than 600V
- 1:400~599V
- 2:250~399V
- 3:175~249V
- 4:100~174V
- 5:Less than 100V
PLC
HWI, HAI, HVTR, D495 and CTI are indicated by the grade of Performance Level Categories (PLC).
